John Corabi

Experience John Corabi at the Langdon Firehouse this June

You guys, we’ve got some news.

It’s big.

In fact, it’s bigger than big. It might just be the biggest music announcement we’ve ever made here at The Newsy Neighbour. We’re proud to join The Firehouse Bar and Grill in welcoming legendary rock vocalist John Corabi to Langdon for an intimate, once-in-a-lifetime performance on June 22!

A Rock Legend Comes to Langdon

If you’re not someone who regularly takes deep dives into artists, bands, and musicians, you might not know right away who John Corabi is. We’ll be that you’re pretty familiar with a little band called Mötley Crüe, though – and if you’ve heard of them, you’ve heard of Corabi.

In 1994, Mötley Crüe released their mould-breaking self-titled album, fronted by none other than John Corabi himself. Marking something of a departure for the band, Mötley Crüe had a sound that was heavier and more technically-complex than its predecessors, signaling a step forward for the band and an evolution of the influential sound they had begun to pioneer in their earlier recordings.

That’s right, Langdon. The Firehouse booked a member of Mötley Crüe to come and bring the heat this summer in June. How ridiculously cool is that???

John Corabi went on to perform, write, and record with a number of other influential and heavy-hitting metal acts in the years that followed, including the Eric Singer Project, RATT, Union, supergroup Brides of Destruction, and more. Finally, in 2015, Corabi officially settled into his current role as guitarist and lead vocalist for The Dead Daisies – an Australian-American rock project that’s featured members from Guns N’ Roses, The Rolling Stones, INXS, The Cult, Whitesnake, Nine Inch Nails, and Journey at various points in time.

In addition to providing lead vocals and guitarwork for The Dead Daisies, Corabi is also enthusiastically dedicated to his solo career. In fact, as of press time, Corabi is currently wrapping up a stint of Australian tour dates in support of his newest release, Live ’94, with a special limited-run white-vinyl edition of an earlier recording, Unplugged, set to release later this April. Then, after returning home to the States to play a few more shows, Corabi will be making a special trip north of the border to stop in on our town for a one-night-only performance hosted by The Firehouse. Yup, you heard that right – John Corabi’s flying up to Canada specifically to play a show right here, in Langdon.

When You’re this Big, You Play When You Want, Where You Want

John Corabi live at The Langdon Firehouse on June 22 – what a huge event! In fact, you might be thinking to yourself right about now, “Sooooo…I knew The Firehouse was big into live music, but I’ve never known them to bring in an act anywhere near this famous before!” And, well, you’d be right!

The Firehouse is well-known for putting on all sorts of different live performances, but the venue generally makes a habit of hosting talented local artists rather than musical mega-stars – and, in doing so, giving scores of fresh, up-and-coming musicians the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience as they cut their teeth and hone their craft.

Corabi, however, is a bit of a different story. In addition to being a bucket-list, Top-Ten-Musicians-To-See-Before-You-Die favourite of Firehouse co-owner Greg Thompson, John Corabi has also made it a habit to perform exclusively in small, intimate settings, allowing him the opportunity to properly connect with the audience and play music on terms that are much more one-on-one with his fans.

Between these unique circumstances, the alignment of the stars, and the blessing of the rock n roll gods, Corabi will be visiting our town on June 22 for one of the most amazing displays vocal mastery and guitar wizardry that you’ll ever have the chance to experience. Due to the size of the venue and exclusive nature of this performance, tickets will be limited; keep an eye on The Firehouse’s Facebook Page for sale details and your chance to buy.

June 22 can’t come quickly enough. As music fans ourselves, we can’t wait to experience this incredible live event, and are looking forward to enjoying the amazing artistry of John Corabi in such a small, exclusive setting – we hope to see you all there!
